Be Grateful and Patient!

"And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we will return." Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the rightly guided." [2: 155-157]

Think about your trails and difficulties compared to many in the world. We complain about not getting a job, getting laid off or the salt in the food, can you compare that to a child in Iraq or Palestine watching his Dad getting killed in front of their eyes and Mom getting raped?

Be Patient and Be Grateful, Allah gave you a shelter to live in, food to eat and so much leisure time that you can sit and read this. Our Prophet (sallalahu alayhi wa salam) said that one of the greatest blessings is a cup of cold water, subhanAllah, look where our demands are, how ungrateful have we become while getting so much provisions from Allah (subhana wa tala).

He or She is Talking About You!!

If someone backbites about someone else to you, chances are, they are backbiting about you to someone else.

"Verily, the hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those ones will be questioned (by Allah).'' (17:36)

‎1528. Abud-Darda' (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (salalahu alayhi wasalam) said, "He who defends the honour of his (Muslim) brother, Allah will secure his face against the Fire on the Day of Resurrection.''
[At-Tirmidhi]

Commentary: If someone says something disgraceful against a Muslim, one must defend his Muslim brother (or sister, for that matter) and say that what has been stated about him or her is wrong and that he (or she) is free from the accusation made against him (or her).

1529. `Itban bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) said in his long Hadith cited in the Chapter entitled `Hope' reported: When the Prophet (salalahu alayhi wasalam) stood up to offer As-Salat (the prayer) he asked, "Where is Malik bin Ad-Dukhshum?'' A man replied: "He is a hypocrite. He does not love Allah and His Messenger.'' The Prophet (salalahu alayhi wasalam) said, "Do not say that. Do you not know that he said: La ilaha illallah (there is no true god except Allah),' seeking His Pleasure. Allah has made the fire of Hell unlawful for him who affirms that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary: "Allah has made the fire of Hell unlawful'' means that a Muslim will not abide in Hell for ever. The reason is that if a Muslim has committed some major sin and Allah has not pardoned it, then he will certainly suffer its punishment in Hell. He will stay there as long as Allah wills. However, he will be later on shifted to Jannah. This Hadith also leads us to the conclusion that the backbiting of a Muslim is forbidden.

Someone made Dua' for you in every prayer‏!

‘Â'ishah (radiAllâh 'anhâ) narrated:

“Once, when I saw the Prophet in a good mood, I said to him: “O Messenger of Allâh! Supplicate to Allâh for me!”

So, he said: “O Allâh! Forgive ‘Â'ishah her past and future sins, what she has hidden, as well as what she has made apparent.”

So, I began smiling, to the point that my head fell into my lap out of joy.

The Messenger of Allâh said to me: “Does my supplication make you happy?”

I replied: “And how can your supplication not make me happy?”

He then said: “By Allâh, it is the supplication that I make for my Ummah (Muslim Nation) in every prayer.”“

[Reported in 'Sahih Mawarid adh-Dhaman' (1875), and it is in 'as-Silsilah as-Sahihah' (2254)]

Health and Sickness

Assalamu alaykum, This is just some notes I was typing up for a course. InshaAllah you may benefit and benefit others. Incase you may be sick or know anyone that is sick or terminally ill. Rememeber me in your dua's. - Fares Elahi

---------------------------

Health and Sickness

"Sickness wakes people up from heedlessness, guides them to give up their sins, makes them think about the Hereafter, leads them to pious beginnings, makes them more thankful to Allah, and teaches them the necessity of taking better care of their health and making better use of their life - something they didn't realise before - teaches them to understand other sick and pained people better, to feel sorry for them and to help them; and raises their ranks and degree higher in the Hereafter."

Health is a blessing, sickness is an examination. It is necessary to praise Allah for the blessings and to show endurance during examinations.

Points the Patient should take note of:
1. Sickness Expiates Sins - Prophet (sallalahu alayhi wa salam) said that no trail befalls a muslim even as small as a thorn prick but Allah forgives some of their sins [Bukhari 5041]

2. Increase in the Remembrance of Allah, recitation of the Qur'an and Ruqiyah and Charity. "Treat your sickness with charity" [Sahih Al Jaami]

3. Seek Medical Help "Verily, Allah sent down sickness and the cure, so seek medical help" [Abu Dawood]

4. Hope for recovery and never wish for death. - Prophet (sallalahu alayhi wa salam) said, None of you should wish for death, for if he is a good doer, he may increase in good deeds and if he is an evil doer, he may repent to Allah." [Bukhari] - Imagine you make it to next ramaadan and all your sins are forgiven...

5. Write out a Wasiyah [Will]

6. Settle all outstanding debts - "The soul of a believer is attached to his debt until it is paid off" [Tirmidhi], "All sins of a martyr are forgiven except for debt" [Muslim]
- Both debts should be settled.. Debt to People and Debt to Allah [Missed Fasts, Zakah etc]

"Indeed for the heart to be taken prisoner is a much greater matter than for the body to be taken as a prisoner." - Ibn Taymiyah [RA]

Pakistan Bangladesh Zindabad

Pakistan Zindabad, Bangladesh Zindabad, 21st Februrary, etc, etc and etc... Our country is better yours is not.. trust me, our military is the best... no man.. Bangladesh Navy.. no Indian.. no Saudi because we are Arab, no Pakistan because we have Mr. 10% and Nuclear.

Solution: Resolved 1400 Years back, not a (2010 Back to the Jaheeliyah movie)

Prophet Muhammad (sallalahu alayhi wa salam) said, as reported in Sahih Muslim,
"He who promotes nationalism is not one of us, neither the one who fights for the sake of nationalism, nor the one who is passionate for nationalism." [Muslim]

He Also said,
"Allah has removed for you the zeal of ignorance, and the boasting of family lineage. People are either a pious believer, or a miserable impious person. Mankind are children of Adam, and Adam is created from Soil. No preference over an arab over a non-arab except by taqwa" [Tirmithi]

Allah (subhana wa tala) said,
"And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allâh (i.e. this Qur'ân), and be not divided among yourselves, and remember Allâh's Favour on you, for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace you may become brothers... " [3, 103]

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Umar: Prophet (sallalahu alayhi wa salam) said, "A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should he hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection . " [Bukhari]

Anas (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) say:
"Allah the Almighty said: O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it."

Shoulder to Shoulder, Feet to Feet!

Did you know that straightening the lines and filling in the gap is an IMPORTANT part of Salah? When you see space fill it up! Do not stand far away from your brothers! Shoulder to Shoulder, feet to feet, do not let Shaytan get in between!

Jabir bin Samurah (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (salalahu alayhi wa salam) came out to us and said, "Why do you not stand in rows as the angels do before their Rubb?'' We asked: "O Messenger of Allah! how do the angels stand in rows... before their Rubb?'' He replied, "They complete each row beginning with the first and filling all the gaps.''
[Muslim]

Commentary: Taras means to stand in the style of a wall, each brick of which is interlocked with another so much so that there is not even the slightest gap between two of its bricks. When people array themselves for Salat, they should keep their feet and shoulders so close with one another on their left and right that there is no gap or space between them. Moreover, the front rows should be completed first. One should never take place in the second row if there is place in the first. Similarly, one should never take place in the third row if there is room in the second line. And so on and so forth.

‎1087. Anas (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SALLALAHU ALAYHI WA SALAM) said, "Keep your rows straight (during Salat in congregation), for keeping the rows straight is part of the perfection of Salat.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Commentary: This Hadith also highlights the importance of setting the rows straight. In fact, this is part of the perfection of Salat. In other words, Salat in congregation does not become perfect without setting the rows in order.

1090. Al-Bara' bin `Azib (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SALLALAHU ALAYHI WA SALAM) used to pass between the rows from one end to the other, touching our chest and shoulders (i.e., arranging the rows) in line and saying, "Do not be out of line; otherwise your hearts will be in disagreement''. He would add, "Allah and His angels invoke blessings upon the first rows.'' [Abu Dawud].

Anas (radiallaahuAnhu) who said, The Messenger of Allah(sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) used to face us before the Takbeer and he used to say, tighten and straighten (the rows).

On the authority of Abi Umaamah who said that the Messenger of All...aah
(sallallaahu Alaihi wasallam) said, Straighten your lines, and align your
shoulders, and yield your hands to your brothers, and close the gaps, for indeed. Shaytaan comes between you through them, just as the small lamb does.
Narrated by Imaam Ahmad.

For Smart Problem Solvers‏

This problem has the solution at the bottom:

Problem #1

837. Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: Messenger of Allah (SALLALAHU ALAYHI WA SALAM) said, "If anyone sits in a gathering where he does not remember Allah, he will bring grief upon himself on the Day of Resurrection, and he who lies down in a place where he does not remember Allah, he will bring grief upon himself on the Day of Resurrection.''
[Abu Dawud].

Commentary: To sum up what has gone in the Ahadith of this chapter, man should remember Allah on all occasions. This will establish and cement his bond with Allah, keeping heedlessness away from his heart and mind. It is heedlessness which prompts man to transgress Divine rules and limits, whereas the remembrance of Allah prevents him from indulging in backbiting and passing slanderous remarks against people in their absence or reproaching and belittling someone at a meeting. Unfortunately, such petty and negative out-pourings are relished at chat sessions in our society. This generates grudge, illwill and hostility in hearts and splits up social cohesion and Islamic solidarity. Every Muslim should, therefore, take care to avoid such gatherings

835. Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: Messenger of Allah (SALLALAHU ALAYHI WA SALAM) said, "Those people who leave a gathering in which they have not remembered Allah, will conclude it as if it has foul odour similar to that of a rotten carcass of a donkey. And it will be a cause of grief to them.''
[Abu Dawud].

Commentary: Messenger of Allah (SALLALAHU ALAYHI WA SALAM) has warned us against refraining from the remembrance of Allah because most of the heart diseases are caused by this indifference, and because most of the sins are committed as a result of this indifference.

Solution #1:

Firstly You should try to remember Allah and remind one another within these gathering, but if you forgot to do that: MEMORIZE THIS!

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: Messenger of Allah (SALLALAHU ALAYHI WA SALAM) said, "Whoever sits in a gathering and indulges in useless talk and before getting up supplicates:

`Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilaika (O Allah, You are free from every imperfection; praise be to You. I testify that there is no true god except You; I ask Your Pardon and turn to You in repentance),'

he will be forgiven for (the sins he may have intentionally or unintentionally committed) in that assembly.''
[At-Tirmidhi].

Commentary: A senseless, boisterous talk, not related to the life to come, is unprofitable and warrants deprecation. But since it is a small sin, it may be pardoned if one sincerely repents of it. Yet, it cannot be classified under the head of major sins and human-right violations which are unpardonable. Scholars unanimously agree that those sins which can be forgiven upon sincerely reciting the above-mentioned supplication are minor sins which relate to the violation of Allah's Rights, as evidenced by other Ahadith.

Give Gifts!!!

assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

This is a reminder to all Muslims to give gifts to one another. Some of the best Islamic gifts could include:
1. Qur’an
2. Islamic Books
3. Islamic DVDs/CDs
etc....

Why Islamic stuff? Because the reward in it is obviously greater. Imagine you give a book or a copy of the Qur'an to someone, after about 100 years envision his great grandchildren are guided to Islam and they continuously use that book in order to learn, recite or benefit. Who was the one who gave that book in the first place? It was YOU! Imagine! In your grave you could be receiving the reward and blessings for giving something several years back!

Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet (sallahu alayhi wa salam), said, "Give gifts and you will love one another." [Bukhari]

Anas said to his son, Thabit, "My son, exchange gifts, it will bring about love between you." [Adab Al Mufrad - Bukhari]

Prophet (sallahu alayhi wa salam) said: “When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge and a righteous son who will pray for him.” [Muslim]

The Messenger of Allah (sallahu alayhi wa salam) said: “The good deeds that will reach a believer after his death are: knowledge which he learned and then spread; a righteous son whom he leaves behind; a copy of the Qur’an that he leaves as a legacy; a mosque that he built; a house that he built for wayfarers; a canal that he dug; or charity that he gave during his lifetime when he was in good health. These deeds will reach him after his death.” [al-Albaani, Saheeh Ibn Maajah]

“Whatever is with you, will be exhausted, and whatever is with Allah (of good deeds) will remain”
[al-Nahl 16:96]

jazakumAllahukhayran,
Just a reminder for myself and others!

Children are born believers in God, Academic Claims

Children are "born believers" in God and do not simply acquire religious beliefs through indoctrination, according to an academic.

Research @ University of Oxford - Dr. Justin Barret
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/religion/3512686/Children-are-born-believers-in-God-academic-claims.html

We like to read these "academic" things, but have we ever read this hadith from the one who we claim we love?

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Every child is born in a state of fitrah (the natural state of man, i.e., Islam, worshipping One God), then his parents make him into a Jew or a Christian or a Polytheist.” (Sahih Muslim).

Best Investment during economic crisis

Best Investment during economic crisis

As many of us have been investing in Stocks, Mutual Funds and other things that have collapsed, failed and have proven to be of no real value in this economic downfall. Dr. Zakir Naik a prominent Dae' have spent his time investing in more important matters. Investment in something every single one of us should attempt to invest in. An investment that continues even after death and its ROI (Return on Investment) is from Allah (subhana wa tala).

Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge and a righteous son (child) who will pray for him.” Narrated by Muslim, 3084.

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The good deeds that will reach a believer after his death are: knowledge which he learned and then spread; a righteous son (child) whom he leaves behind; a copy of the Qur’aan that he leaves as a legacy; a mosque that he built; a house that he built for wayfarers; a canal that he dug; or charity that he gave during his lifetime when he was in good health. These deeds will reach him after his death.” Classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah.

Pray that Allah preserves this child, strenghtens his Iman and allows him to cause the impact his father has had or MORE!...The question is.. where is your impact???

House in Jannah‏

assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barkatuh,

A large Masjid is being built in Australia which needs financing. You can donate online, check out their website as it has a video of the plan as well. Shaykh Bilal Assad is connected with this Masjid, most of you all know who he is.

This is an amazing opportunity for you to invest is what really matters, which is the akhira. Even if you put a small amount regardless of how little it is, it is the intention that is the most important. This is a means of sadaqa-jariya/Continious Charity which lives on after a person has passed away and benefits him/her in the grave.

So take advantage!! If i gave you an amazing job offer with great benefits, for sure you would take it!! Wallahi this is better than that offer!

Prophet (sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) said,

"There will be none among you but his Lord will talk to him, and there will be no interpreter between him and Allah. He will look to his right and see nothing but his deeds which he has sent forward, and will look to his left and see nothing but his deeds which he has sent forward, and will look in front of him and see nothing but the (Hell) Fire facing him. So save yourself from the (Hell) Fire even with half a date (given in charity)." [Bukhari]

Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge and a righteous son who will pray for him.” Narrated by Muslim

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whosoever builds for Allah a masjid, Allah will reward him similar to it in paradise.” (Bukhari, Muslim)

Fasting in the Month of Muharram

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The best fasting after Ramadaan is the month of Allaah Muharram, and the best prayer after the obligatory prayer is prayer at night. (Tahajud)” (Narrated by Muslim)

Ibn Abbas (Radhiyallahu-Anhu) reports: "that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu-Alayhi-Wasallam) said: "The one that keeps a fast in the month of Muharram will receive the reward of thirty fasts for each fast (in this sacred month)." (At-Tabraani)

According to Ibn Abbas Radhiallaho Anhu, when the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wassallam migrated to Madinah, he found that the Jews of Madinah used to fast on the 10 th day of Muharram. They said that it was the day on which the Prophet Musa Alayhis Salaam and his followers crossed the Red Sea miraculously, and the Pharaoh was drowned in its water. On hearing this from the Jews, the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wassallam said, "We are more closely related to Musa than you." So the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wassallam directed the Muslims to fast on the day of Ashura. (Abu Dawood)

The Prophet (Sallallahu-Alayhi-Wasallam) has exhorted and encouraged his Ummah to fast on this day. He said: "This fast[Aahura] is a compensation for the (minor) sins of the past year." (Muslim)

Ibn Abbas (Radhiyallahu-Anhu) said: "When Rasulullah (Sallallahu-Alayhi-Wasallam) observed the fast of the day of Aashora and ordered (his Companions) to fast, they said: `O Rasulullah! It is a day revered (glorified) by the Jews and Christians.' Thereupon Rasulullah said: "The coming year, if Allah wills (I remain alive), I will surely fast on the ninth (also)." (Muslim)

The Prophet (Sallallahu-Alayhi-Wasallam) said: "Observe the fast of Aashora and oppose the Jews. Fast a day before it or a day after." (Baihaqi)

Rasulullah (Sallallahu-Alayhi-Wasallam) said: "One who generously spends on his family on the day of Aashora, Allah will increase (his provision) for the whole year." (Baihaqi)

And Allah Knows Best!
